Week 9, 20 September

Week 9 review

My highlight of the week is production because all of these 6 weeks  have lead up to yesterday because we have been acting and dancing.  My scene is a nativity scene,  but we have to act really bad like infants it was really funny and some people said our scene was the most funny.

Something I am looking forward to is athletics because last year I came 2nd in every race and I tied 1st in long jump and came 1st in hurdles and his year you can go to zones and i have already gone to zones for basketball.

Weeks 1-6 update  30th august

These weeks were pretty cool especially market day. Market day was when we had to learn how to work with money and to see if we made a profit or a lose.  Harrison and I actually made a big profit we made about $80 profit but we made about 20$ dollars each because we had to give 40$ to the school. Also loads of people complimented us about that it was good.  With our money we made about   120$ and I was proud of us making that much money!

Secondly we have been doing some practise for our production that is in week 9. Our songs are called Hey T.A and Pats blue  and my song is HeyT.A and I get to do a cartwheel in the first quarter of the play. We have done all our dance moves and we are all just practising it now.

One more thing is Winter sport  has finished and we came 1st place (for 3rd and 4th place)! The score was 3-0 to us and the other game was really tight because there was penalty shootout for about 10-15 minutes. because someone had to score to win. But people keep on missing and goalkeepers saving but in the end Hillview won

Weekly update for the 28 June

Weekly update for the 28 June

Hello this week has been pretty cool because we have won pizza for the whole class.  This is how we got it. 

So a few weeks ago we had a spelling test and you would  have to get sponsors.  So for each word you would get paid the amount that the sponsor would willing to pay  so I got 1 sponsor and my dad was willing to pay 50 cents per word and this is where the pizza came in.  The first class to bring ALL the slips with the words/money in it would get pizza for lunch and that's what we did;).

Guess what else happened? We had a sausage sizzle yesterday and I got two sausages but the problem  we had to wait long time for the sausages to arrive so I went to go help with the sausages and it turned out that they needed some help so  I filled up the  ketchup containers and in the end I had a good lunch!

This week we found out that the sandpit was incredibly fun because we  dug a massive  hole but we couldn't get it that deep because near the bottom there was a clay and the shovel couldn't break through the clay so we decided that we should use all of this sand and put it into a big container.  It  took quite a while to fill it up and compound the sand so it would not break that easily.  Here is the picture of us tipping it over  

Week 8 Sparkly Update

Sparkly update Week 8

Today we are having a amazing day!  We are having a day where we dress up in something sparkly or something colourful. I wore a very bright red jersey, a blue and red football t-shirt also some blue pants.  We have just started the day and I am already having fun. I will show you what is all about -putting a sparkle in someone's day is being kind to someone and it's really fun.  We  listened to this song called ''Get your sparkle on''  I will put a link to this song,  and a quote  about  to not be afraid to do what you want to be in life and never give up.

Another thing we had this week was basketball zones.  We had four games to show how good we are. We won the first game and lost the other three but surprisingly we came seventh out of ten teams!  '~'

Weekly update Friday 14 June

This week was a very interesting week. We got to learn lots of new stuff. The first thing I want to tell you about is our new inquiry project. Harrison and I are going to make a sushi stand to raise money so if we sell everything we will earn $142.5o but I don't think we will. Another thing we got to do is watch Middleton Grange High School play music. They were AMAZING! They had a jazz band as well as a orchestra. My  favourite instrument was the base guitar. 

                             Friday 24 May                                                             Inquiry presentation 

              For the last 6 weeks I have been working on a sock puppet video on how to look after the 

                the eel habitat. The members of my team are Bryn, Joshua and Luke. Bryn was the cameraman. It took us many tries... 25 in fact but Mrs O'Neill said we could enter our sock puppet video into a competition we haven't done it yet. I am super excited about that!

Friday 17 May Winter sports

Winter Sports 

Yesterday we had Winter sports. This was exciting for me because it was my first day doing winter sports. Winter sports is when we get to go to Hagley park and compete with other teams. This week we couldn't make it to  our destination because our game was going to start in a different location in two minutes but we had to walk another thirty minutes to get there. Mrs dowling then had to text our coach because she had to walk there too. So in the end we played against each other. 

The results  were as follows.... 17-2 ... to US!

Weekly update Friday May 10 2019 

On Thursday we had a Catholic Sports Tournament. The Catholic sports tournament is when we get to choose between 4 sports. Hockey,Football,Netball and Riper rugby. I choose Football because it is my Favourite sport. As we were on the bus  I was so excited. Our first game was St James we just bet them 2-0 to us.  I scored the both of the goals. Then we had a bye which was lucky because we had some time to eat some lunch.  After we went over to pitch 7 it was my mum's team that were playing -unfortunately they lost. Then we had to verse them. One of my favourite thing in that game was when I skilled the whole team and scored.

End of Term Reflection

End of Term reflection

This term has been a amazing term we got to do loads of fun activity's. We got to do fun things like Korfball,Caritas Challenge Day  - this where we got to feel what the people feel in South Sudan. We ate rice, made shelters out of cardboard and that's all!Another thing was spheros, spheros was my personal highlight spheros is where you are giving this little ball and you get to code it around!! Another one was our eel learning ,We got to go to Centennial Stream and learn a lot about eel's we got to touch them as well they are very slimy creatures and!! There was some whitebait that we got to touch . But my low light was the LEARNZ conference because we just sat there and listen to people taking over and over again. 

I am really looking forward to next term!!

Holy Week

Holy Week 

This week is Holy Week. Holy Week is when we remember the crucifixion of Jesus.

I know that the last Sunday of Holy Week is called Passion Sunday because it is the start of Passion Week.

This is my learning from this week. 

 Thursday 4 April  Refugee day 

Yesterday we had a Caritas challenge. We  got to make cardboard houses. We only got to use  1 metre of duct tape and 2 metres of string to build the hut. We also  got to eat rice to feel what the South Sudan people  really have. I only ate rice for the whole day I just wanted to try it out. But I totally regret it because I was really sick from having no food except rice. I had no dinner, breakfast and lunch.

Korfball  Friday 29 March 

This week we got to play Korfball. In case you don't know what Korfball is, it is like netball and basketball we got to play it all week. We all knew how to play. Sometimes there were some issues but it was really fun. Our teacher was Yuri he was all the way from Netherlands.

Today a eel scientist came to our school to talk to us about eels. He taught us a lot of facts! 

• They can swim backwards
• They grow up to 2 meters
• The ear bone is used to tell how old they are 
• They eat ducklings/crabs 
• Eels don't like sunlight 
• Big eels are mostly females 
• If it has spots it is from Australia
• They don't use much energy
• They have a wonderful sense of smell
• They are cannibals

 Good morning, 

Today some missionaries came to our school(Phil and Janet).  I learnt a lot about South Sudan's history. I was pretty lucky because I got to keep a coin that was from South Sudan. I learnt a lot of facts.  Here are some facts that I learnt.

• The capital is Juba
• All of the water comes from the Nile river 
• 100$ dollars in South Sudan is worth 30 Cents!!
• The population of Juba 200,000 people.
• You can't flush toilet 
• A house was worth 1/2 Pounds 
• They live on a hill to spot enemies coming up  
•

Green hat day

Friday 15 march

Happy green hat day!

On Sunday is Saint Patrick's day. Saint Patrick's Day is when
we wear a green hat in memorial of Saint Patrick. This Friday
we are wearing green hats but I couldn't find a green hat but we
still have green school hat !!
